PFC LEGENDS STORIES
We have known for a long time that the Prague Floorball Cup can go very far. After all, the face of the tournament almost from the beginning has been Filip Forman, a striker of Swedish Kalmarsund and the Czech national team, who was also at the recently concluded World Championship in Malmö and helped to win a bronze medal. He was still at PFC in the Bohemians jersey, but he is far from the only one who has subsequently donned the national jersey or appeared in the top competition. How do they remember their time at one of the biggest tournaments in the Czech Republic?
Eliska Svrčková (goalkeeper of FbS Bohemians in ČEZ Extraliza)
"For me, it was the last tournament with the Blackamas, so it was a kind of a memorial tournament and the end of the season. We won the whole PFC back then. The medal is still hanging at home. I feel like a lot more teams are showing up and quite a few people came out."
Monika Šolleová (goalkeeper of Bulldogs Brno in ČEZ Extraliza)
"Since it's been a while, I think it was 2017, I don't remember exactly, but I know it was for Kladno, for the boys' category, some younger kids or older. So I was catching and I remember that we went through that tournament pretty well, pretty easily and then in the final we "booed" quite a lot against some older guys.I think there were two of us in goal, so we kind of took turns, but even in that final I think we were kind of half catching. And I guess it didn't matter there because we pretty much got the boot."
"Definitely the final at UNYP was like an experience for me. In a big arena, on a big field, in front of a full house. So it was an experience."
Adam Draslar (goalkeeper of the U23 national team)
"I think it was in 2022. It has this bittersweet flavor. We finished third, but I think the tournament overall was great from us. We played a lot of good games here. I don't think any game was by more than two goals. They were absolutely great, evenly matched games and the tournament was absolutely great. I remember when we played at Slavia, for example, there were a lot of people there and the atmosphere was great. And the games were evenly matched, so definitely some of the preparation for the Super League in the years after was great."
"I think it's just that big tournament, that the focus on every game of the tournament, whether it's the group or the playoffs, has just been maximum and we've been gaining experience in terms of tough and evenly matched games."
Hana Kucharova (silver goalkeeper from the 2022 U19 World Championship)
"I remember it very fondly, I have been here four times, I have four medals from here. I actually managed to win the whole tournament the first year, so it's just good memories. The first year it was a gold medal, the very next tournament it was gold and bronze and the last time I was here I had a silver medal with my team. I was always in the girls category, but one year I played two categories, junior girls and junior girls."
"So for me, I guess the biggest experience was the first year when I actually made it to the finals and got to play at the famous UNYP Arena. At the beginning when the national anthem played, that was probably the biggest experience for me at that age."
