PFC MINI
One of the few Czech tournaments of its kind, and unrivaled in size, is the Prague Floorball Cup MINI. It is a tournament for the youngest categories, which is usually held in conjunction with the overall PFC event. Every year, we welcome the youngest categories to Prague, where they compete in 3+1 matches. The exact categories for the following year can be found HERE.
MINI VISION
The tournament was created with the aim of giving children the opportunity to try out and experience a tournament of this scale and to further develop their floorball knowledge and skills (which is why we try to provide referees for the tournament every year who explain and teach the game to the children rather than "punishing" them). The tournament was not created to foster rivalry or excessive competitiveness among such young children, so we ask coaches, team members, and all accompanying adults to join us in this effort.
MINI location
Because we understand how complicated the logistics and organization of such young children can be, we always try to organize the Prague Floorball Cup MINI tournament in such a way that it is as simple as possible for the teams from all points of view. That is why the tournament always takes place within one venue - the locations of individual tournaments are always disclosed in advance. If there are a large number of registered teams, we add one more playing hall, which is always within walking distance of the main hall.
All tournament events take place in one location, so you don't have to travel long distances with your children - not even for food or accommodation. Meals are served directly at the main tournament hall, and the school where the teams are accommodated, if interested, is also nearby (approx. 15 minutes on foot).
All PFC MINI 3plus1 categories are played on medium-sized youth goals - 120x90cm.
MINI gaming system
Unlike PFC for older categories, the tournament takes place over two days – Saturday and Sunday. This is so that children can cope with the demanding schedule – we believe that three days of play would be too long.
We guarantee six matches within the PFC Mini. Ideally, we try to arrange seven matches, but we cannot promise that this will be possible for all teams and categories.
The playing system is slightly different each time depending on the number of teams registered. However, there are no playoffs in the PFC MINI, but rather so-called advancement groups. After the preliminary rounds, the teams are re-ranked according to their performance and placed into advancement groups. In these groups, the teams then compete against more evenly matched opponents for the overall ranking.
A detailed overview of the scoring system for this year's MINI will be available here approximately one week before the start of the tournament.
MINI Awards
Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the best teams in each category. At the same time, participation medals are awarded to each player, because at this age it is necessary to reward every good performance and support the development of teams in younger categories.
